Stephen Tanzer's IWC - Jan 2016 - Josh Raynolds - 2010 Gramona Imperial Gran Reserva Brut - 92/100
(made with a dosage of 8 g/l): Pale yellow-gold. Displays vibrant, mineral-tinged citrus fruit and floral scents, along with suggestions of fennel, toasted grain and quinine. Silky, seamless and dry, offering intense Meyer lemon and intriguingly delicate pear flavors. Pure and sharply focused, with outstanding finishing clarity and stony persistence. This graceful, finely balanced Cava delivers outstanding value and competes favorably with plenty of Champagnes that sell for twice as much, if not more.
