I was very impressed by the 2012 Nicolás, pure Albariño from a single vineyard cropped from a warmer and riper vintage than 2013 or 2014; it reveals aromas of yellow fruit, plums and nectarines with some citric hints, yeasts/leesy aromas, and a note of hay and straw. The palate is round and lush (relatively speaking) with flavors of bitter lemons and some honeyed hints. The acidity holds and lifts the wine up, and will keep in for years. 5,000 bottles were filled in September 2013.
